Everyman Agency is a New York-based communications firm promoting complex ideas, mostly in the arts. We build awareness and provoke action for cultural organizations and individual artists by putting impactful storytelling, strategic thinking, and meaningful relationships at the heart of our work. We specialize in dance, theater, music, visual art and the compelling work in between.

John Wyszniewski, Founding Director

In 2017, John founded Everyman Agency to combine his love for culture with his passion for the media. As an advocate for the transformational power of art, John believes in the power of the media to shine a spotlight on new and underrepresented voices. His practice is rooted in the idea that a universal truth can be found at the core of any authentic artistic expression, no matter the scale or form.

Some memorable projects include the late arrival of the century old Abrons Arts Center as a cultural destination, an interactive public art project in Times Square that turned Capitalism into a lively topic, an awkward elementary-school role-playing game turned biting play that hilariously examined race, and the graceful career transition of former New York City Ballet icon Wendy Whelan.

Following a brief career as an artist and curator, in 2004, John turned his attention to marketing and communication in the arts with senior positions at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, School of Visual Arts, and Dance Theater Workshop. From 2011-2017, he was the Managing Director at Blake Zidell & Associates, where he guided campaigns for the Crossing the Line festival, The Kitchen, Labyrinth Theater, The Pearl Theatre Company, Performance Space 122, Soho Rep., and the 2012–14 revival of the seminal 1976 Philip Glass/Robert Wilson opera Einstein on the Beach, among others. An archive of his work can be found here.
